The southwest of France, Dordogne, Gers, Lot, Tarn, Lot-et-Garonne, and Gironde just to name a few.

Some of the best French cuisine comes from these areas of France and have served as a bases for much of the finer French cuisine that people pay top dollar for in fine restaurants!

There are so many things to see and do that even a week isn't enough!

Also, the Pyrenee moutains, Spain, and Andorra are not far away.

Don't forget eastern France.
Regions such as Alsace or Lorraine have great assets: wines, beers, sausages, nice villages and towns...

I suggest you to visit Strasbourg, 3h away from Paris by train.

As the city is on the French-German border, you have a great access to the Germany.

Yes I live near to Fontainebleau and it's a very nice town, with a castle, 50 kilometers away from Paris, and there are many restaurants and cafés...very nice, especially on the week end.
South of France is beautiful : Bordeaux (south-west), where they produce good red wine, or Toulouse, called la ville rose (pink town), because of the pink stone of which it is largely build, or the french Riviera=la côte d'azur) and the climate is generaly better, and people more relaxed.
La Vendée (on the west coast of France) is a very nice and touristic area, with nice towns on the seashore.

Heck yeah, but i really only know northern france. Bretagne is gorgeous. The French countryside is probably more amazing tovisit than Paris, but i wouldn't tell many peoplethat, the tourists would ruin that too. I also loved the cityof Troyes. and Fountainbleau (although fountainbleau could be considered a suburb of Paris, it is far enough away sothe tourists don't get there very often.
