I am french, my wife is american.
I do prefer france because of :
- Culture
- Education
- Social services
- Food
- Freedom of speech
I prefer the US because of :
- Notion of Services (shop open 24/24)
- Tax
- no strike
- more chance to build a business

As we have kids, we are staying in france until their education is complete, then, we will see
See what are your interest, then choose

It depends what part of France and what part of USA.
Would prefer live in Utah than in the north of France ,but prefer the Cote d'Azur to New york

Each person has is more agreeable places

Definitively in France...the culture there is so amazing and rich, some of the nicest towns in the world are there....so many different landscapes...and about liberties : they got so much more than in the USA....trust me, you can nearly do whatever u want in France...and no ones got guns...it's a lot more secure...no gangs over here.
By the way, I'm in Paris at the moment....so beautiful...and they do speak English now!

I am a Filipino American, therefore I will prefer to live in the USA. I have dreamed of going to Paris but not living there. First of all I dont have any relative & friend there. Though am studying French, I still cant master my craft in a few months time. I am a doctor & pharmacist. Its hard to explain medications in French & I still have to take an exam which I had already passed in the USA.

Ideally, I would live 6 months in both. But realistically, I prefer living in France. We have job security, proper medical care, the public schools are much better than in the US, it is easier to get childcare, the roads and public transport systems are wonderful, the food is excellent, the people are more frank, rich culture, great history, beautiful cities & scenery, etc...
That said, there are negative aspects: high taxes, lack of respect for strangers, the civil servants are HORRIBLE TO DEAL WITH, strikes, etc.

Live in France, are you kidding?

Amy d
I have been living in France for 5 years and I love many aspects of it; (medical insurance, having an exotic American accent, bakeries, the history,,,oh the HISTORY). I also miss the USA terribly. I want to go back because I miss my family and all of my long time friends. I want my children (born in Europe) to know what it means to be an American, and yes, it is a heck of a lot easier to do things in English, my native tongue. All in all, I miss America while we are living in France (I don't miss Bush). When we go back to the states, I am positive that I will miss France just as much. Once you have spent years in a second country, you are never truly at home in either place. We just try to be happy where we are and do the best we can.
