Does any know of a good rental car in France . I'm having trouble finding an automatic car at a decent price.

We had a VERY hard time renting automatics while we lived in Europe (so I'm not surprised you're having such a tough time finding an affordable automatic) it seems Europeans preferr the manual transmitions over the automatics, not sure why? But that's how my husband learned how to drive stick (I was just glad he wasn't learning on MY car)! I made sure I LEARNED to drive a stick when I learned to drive that way I wouldn't have to "learn how to drive twice" like my step-mom did (she learned to drive stick for the first time as I was learning to drive period, I caught on to the whole using a clutch thing a WHOLE lot faster than she did). So IF you know how to drive stick I would recommend you expand your search criteria for non-automatics, and you will be able to find a lot more out there. We went with Hertz (in Germany).

Hi !

Try "Europcar'' ( www.europcar.com) but I'm not sure that there are automatic gears in my country, never saw, not yet !

Ok, have a nice weekt-end,

Catherine from France.

I recommend going with either Enterprise or Hertz or Budget. Use a company that you are familiar with. It's much easier if you experience a problem, and it'll be worth the extra cash in the long run.

i suggest www.sixti.com
u can rent a Smart car (they r fun to drive, but small) and they are ALL automatic. that's by far the best deal to get an automatic transmission vehicle in France....have fun!
