Transfers bewteen metro lines are usually short (3 minutes).

Transfer bewteen metro and RER lines are longer because RER tunnels and platforms are a lot deeper under the ground.

It really depends on the station. In some of them, it's simply a matter of going up or down a short flight of stairs. In others, it seems like you're walking forever.

It's not nearly as bad as the London underground but there are places that yes, it might involve a bit of a walk.

Some stations - are well known for having to walk very long -

Ex : Montparnasse or Opera RER/Metro - but in such cases there are kinds of rolling carpets - which is quite better

I can't compare to London because I've never been to London, however...

Changing lines on the Paris metro did involve a little bit of walking, but I didn't think it was very bad and I didn't think it was A LOT of walking. And the signs make it pretty easy to tell which way you need to go.

It's often about 1min
But some stations are very long (5min or more)

SMB
Which London tube are you referring to??
