Does the Euro star go directly from UK to Paris?

I am going to Paris soon and wondering if I can get the Eurostar from Ashford, Kent to Central Paris? so that I can get off the Eurostar in Paris and drive around?

Also, what's the weather like there at the moment? What are the best places to eat, soclialise and visit? How long does the journey to Paris take?

The Eurostar goes direct from London Waterloo to Paris. Its a nice trip, shorter than flying (takes 3 hours total - including check in) and highly recommended!

However, you cannot put a car on it. People and luggage only.

Driving a car in Paris is a pain: there is a lot of traffic and it's hard to find parking spots. Being a pedestrian is ideal. Make sure you get a subway pass (also valid on busses).

You'd need to check times, not all eurostars stop at ashford. And not all of them go to Paris. They take you into Gare Du Nord, there's a bus station right there and undergrounds too. If you're looking at staying over night there are some cheap B&Bs near the station, check out Superbreak.com as well as Eurostar.
When I stayed there I went on one of the tour buses. Well, you actually buy a day ticket and get on and off whatever buses you like, I think there's about 4 circuits they do.
Hope this helps, have fun!

London to Paris via the Channel Tunnel.

hi there im too heading to paris shortly by the eurostar! first of all yes the eurostar passenger train( not the vehicle train, this only goes folkstone to calais) will go direct to paris, gard du nord!! As for driving do you mean that you are hiring a car? paris is hard to drive around!! it takes roughly 2.5 hrs to paris or so. visiting the sites.......theres soooo many! generally paris is warmer than london. depending what food you like to eat, there are untold cafes, resturants in paris!!
enjoy your trip!
ps i have a little guide witch names a few places to go and visit if you are interested!!!

The Eurostar takes you to Gare de Nord in central Paris and the journey there takes aroud 2 hours (from waterloo 2 1/12h) The weather is warm right now, but for the w-e they prognose rain...who knows.
There are soo many places to eat, it depends of your budget.
There are many exhibitions and museums to go to, I really love the Picasso Museum in the 3rd district:-)
If you like music conserts: The Tryptique, Truskel, Pop-In & la Fleche d'Or are some of the in rock places;
Well, have a great time!!!

The Eurostar train carries passengers only, so whilst you can take it directly from Ashford to Paris, you will not be able to get off and drive around - unless you've hired a car for you to collect at the station.
If you want to take your own car, you'll need to use the Euroshuttle through the Channel Tunnel from Folkestone (roughly) to France, and then drive to Paris - if that's where you want to go. The drive from Calais to Paris should take something like three and a half hours, always assuming you don't stop for a break. And the direct route involves a toll road.
