No offense, but I was in Paris last 14th. July and after the celebration it was impossible to use the metro 1-2 hours, so you must go by walking back to your hotel.

Yes from 6.00am to 1.00am. The 14th is a day off, so instead of to have a metro every 2 minutes you will have a metro every 5-7 minutes.
