Don't you think france is unfair with their minorities?

There are a lot of discrimination in france, people would not hire someone cause is black or asian. Don't you think that's unacceptable, i think in england there are way less discrimination than in france.
Do you agree with me?

France is one of the European countries that has nearly ceased to be European and become African or Arabic today. Paris has such a large Islamic and African population that in some parts you will be hard put to find a white face. So how can it be discriminatory? It has bent backwards to accommodate the ethnic minorities of a certain kind that anti-semitism is on the rise again. Yet the newcomers push harder to gain more and more concessions. In time the majority population will be non-indigenous French because of the low birth rate among them. If they are now favouring their own, then that's probably a move in the right direction.

I agree there is discrimination in France but would not agree that there is more discrimination than in the UK.

No matter where it occurs I agree that its unacceptable.

However, it should be noted that it is important to correctly define what is discrimination and what is not.

For example, refusing to permit ethnic minorities to continue barbarous practices like so called "honour killings" or female circumcision is not discrimination.

Insisting that everyone observe the same laws and not permitting the substitution of particularist codes like Sharia is not discrimination.

Refusing to excuse illegal entry into the country is not discrimination.

Requiring everyone who wishes to be a citizen speak the national language is not discrimination.

Too often claims of discrimination are really demands for special treatment. No nation should have to do that.

Do you knows country apart France when even you are illegal you touch money (The AME)??

ok Mister Troll?

The difference beetween Anglo-Saxon and French is the model

Communautarism for the first (each one in their districts)
Assimilationisme for the second (same for everybody)
different conceptions, different injustice

Why did you come here to express youself, usually you post on yahoo answers french but you have been so many times humiliated by french users so you came here for whining about a supposed unfair treatment of France towards its minorities.
I d be ashamed if i was you, seriously, you know that everyone made fun of you in french.
In France there is only one main racism, it is against white people because we are becoming a minority in our own country, moreover i don' t speak about muslims who are really racists.

I think discrimination in France (where I live) than un the UK (where I was born) are strongly equivalent...
The main trouble comes from the fact that the former socialist french government has been extremely favourable to immigration, more that the contry coulf afford. As a result the point of view of the man in the street has considerably evoluted and new immigrants are far from being welcome at this moment...

No matter what country it is be it France, UK, USA etc etc you can legislate all you want but you cannot legislate against peoples own personal discrimination wether it is racist, religious or sexual. I have worked with people from all backgrounds and they are all as racist as each other. They can be Black, white, asian, gay, straight or whatever. Go to Zimbabwe if you are white and get abuse, go to Australia if you are English and get abuse go to a white european christian country if you are coloured and a muslim for example and you really have everything stacked against you despite what the law says. France is no worse than anywhere else and i for one have no problem with the french people trying to protect their own heritage from being drowned and diluted by what is mainly economic immigration.

This issue has two sides, both of which are understandable. My friend who is African American went to France to study French for a summer and she was prevented from entering a club by a bouncer who though she was from North Africa. I feel terrible for her, and I think that what the guy did was wrong. You do have to try to understand their perspective, however. Their government allowed a huge wave of immigrants into their country from Algeria and other former colonies. At this point, French people of North African descent are having children at a much faster rate than the original French people. Also, there have been several cars blown up in Paris by religious radicals. France is a relatively secular country, and these sorts of problems just increase any ant-immigrant sSentimentamong the French people.
Many of them don't really have a big problem with people who are of African descent, and in fact stereotype most Americans as racists. It's a cultural conflict more than anything else.
I grant you that many of the French act in an ugly manner towards iimmigrants but then they've never really been a melting pot type of country. People will get along better when their cultures are able to integrate with each other.

i've never been to France, so I don't know all the details and nuances of the racial tension there to present an informed opinion.

However, from the outside looking in, I would say that one of the biggest issues might be the idea of the "French Identity", as being the member of a particular ethnocultural group, as a opposed to a general nationalistic culture.

America & Britain seem, for the most part, to have accepted that a person can come from a foreign cultural or ethnic background, and still be an American or a Brit.

You can be African-American, or Chinese-American.

You can be a Black-Brit or a Pakistani-Brit.

But in France you can only be a French-African or a French-Arab.

The classification is exclusive, not inclusive.

But my point goes way beyond hyphenated labels.

It speaks to a nation-wide mindset that really must be addressed before any racial or ethnocultural progress is to be had.

That is not to say that there aren't some Americans or Brits who are similarly exclusive or racist.

I'm just saying that the idea of multicultural nationalism seems to have taken root in the collective identities of America and Britain, in a way that it has yet to do it places like France, Spain or Italy, for example.

Again, I'm just hypothesizing, because I am not well acquainted with France's current political climate.
