You don't need a visa (therefore no cost). You just need a passport. You can stay up to 90 days in the EU without a Visa.

Graham I
If you are a US citizen you do not need a visa to enter France.

See site below and read section under "Entrance Requirements." You do not need a visa, and I have never heard of any fee at the airport..the site below always says so if there is such a fee for a certain country.

US citizens do not need a visa for France. They have three months to stay in the country without worrying about papers. I have entered France a few times and I don't remember any fee at the airport.

There is no fee and has never been a fee to enter France on a US passport at least in the last 40 years!
