Hello,

In France, we call these very expensive hotels : Palace.
Here some of them : Le Ritz, Le Meurice, Fouquet's Barrière, Le Crillon, Le Plaza Athenee, Le George V, Le Bristol.

Neophyte
I smell something definitely devilish in your question  ; )  , but since it is all public information anyway, here it is:

According to Forbes (2002 issue), that distinction belongs to the Belle Étoile Suite of Hotel Meurice in Paris, France, at a measly (US)$7,300 per night (at the €uro conversion rate way back then):

This, however, is not the most expensive hotel accomodation in the world that can be ordered from your fat wallet (I know, I know, it’s not your question, either) by a long, long shot, according to this same article at the time, but it sure beats a typical room at George V (that’s George Cinq, as in George the Fifth) or Hotel Plaza Athénée or Ritz Paris Hotel, all ultra-luxury hotels also in different arrondissements of Paris, that immediately came to my mind.

A lot might have changed since over five years, but probably not much.  At the same time, who knows, with the current global environment, these hoteliers may (emphasis) just want to latch on to the idea of being “classy, yet affordable” instead of plain “luxury and snobbish,” and give all of us mere peasants a two-for-one, say, kind of deal should we ever have the courage (and the corresponding bank account) to walk through their front doors and step up to their front desks...

Me?  I usually find myself a convenient park bench in Jardin du Luxembourg whenever I happen to visit the area...  : )

Let us know how the general service is during tea time, should you finally make up your mind to book your stay in Paris at one of these places, after all, for the week, won’t you please?

Prince de Galles Hotel (fab Art Deco style, I would highly recommend this one) Also... The Ritz, Paris Marriot, Hôtel de Vendôme, Hotel Marignan Champs-Elysées, Best Western Premier Hotel Opéra Richepanse. They are lots of amazing luxury hotels in Paris!!! Oh and I think someone has already mentioned Hotel le Bristol, and I agree it is possibly the best hotel in the room (especially if you stay in one of their prestige rooms, the service and decor is to die for!)
