FRANCE! Food they eat in france....(look)?

I am going to France either this year or in two years (junior year) with my school. Each of us live with a family, and I was wondering how often french people eat out and what they have for lunch dinner and even breakfast on most days. Thanks!

Lunch time is very important in France.
We eat three time per day not more. Not in front of the TV.
We eat a lot in the morning and for the lunch but few during the diner
First the breakfast at 7~8 hours during the week. You will drink some coffe, tea, hot milk, or cold milk with cereal and eat some toast.
At 12 it's lunch time you will eat a salad after the main dishe with starchy food and most of the time meat. After a yoghurt and cheese and some times a desert
At 19~20 for diner a very light meal with a soup during the winter and with more vegetables.
And we try to change or meals the most often than we can.
The lunch is like that in my family but in most of the family you will eat the same things than in america.

Hello-Paris
Don't worry, we eat good things in France.

Breakfast : cafe or tea or milk or chocolate + bread + butter + marmelade + corn flakes...

Lunch : one entry (for example tomatoes or eggs or salad...) + one main course (for example beefsteack or fish and vegetables) + cheese or desert....

Diner : same as lunch, often soup instead of entry.

But more and more young french eat almost as young american... I'm sure you will find in your family something you like...

I am sure you will be more pleased than disappointed

Each meal is important in France.
We eat 3 time per day.(and if you want, you can have a "break" or a "snack" (I don't know how do U say it in english...)

Breakfast: tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juice, bread with butter, Jam, honey, "Nutella", "pain au chocolat", "croissant" ...

Lunch and dinner.

Where will you go in France?
Because in France, each shire has its specialities.

But don't worry, you'll enjoy it!!

Good food!!! I could live off of French bread and cheese!

well i'm french. I come from france too. What they usually eat for breakfast is cereal or hot chocalate but never an american meal. Like eggs and bacon. Lunch is good food so expect some weird looking food and it may look bad but really it's good. And dinner is the same as lunch. They don't eat out alot but the food is great!!

if youre talking about a homestay, you will most likely be making and buying your own food. the ppl you live with only acomodate you with a home and maybe a meal once in a while. so be prepared to be pretty much on your own. but to answer your question it truly depends on the family but the french are avid restaurant goers so make sure to have cash for dining out. breakfast is usually pastries and cafe and dinner is the same things we eat in the us, beef, chicken and even duck.

very good chefs are in france. i also hear that france won an international pastry contest in food network. i also ate at a french restaurant in my state (yes, im in the US), and it looks pretty much like fancy food and italian. and, uh, i wonder what you think about escargot(snails)...

darkvince7
All you ask totally depends on the family.
We eat a lot of pastas.

My rule of thumb is to eat it and not ask. :-) You probably don't want to know.
