For the ones who have been in Paris? |
Have u had the feeling like the Eifel Tower is made out of air? Generally, did u feel this "something special" of Paris or for you it's just one of the capitals of Europe? |

Hmm there's so much magic to paris that goes overlooked for tourists....once you live there you realise that this is a village within a city....it's spleindidly cosmopolitan and local at the same time.
honestly, you begin to realise paris isn't about sightseeing. parisians don't like the champs-elysees, they barely like the tour eiffel. paris is about living it and feeling it, grabbing a pain au chocolat on a corner of rue de rennes and smelling the poulet roti on rue de seine (or the sunday markets for that matter)...it's about sitting on lined up chairs at bastille or spending a whole afternoon reading a book at the parc monceau or having a the a la menthe at the mosquee.
every 'capital of Europe' is something special in its own way. Paris' way is just unlike the others. |

I thought it was ok. But the best was Nice. I would like to go back and see some more things.
But first i want to go back to Berlin. |

Never cared for Paris. Lots of criminal activity (largely ignored by police), people are rude to "Anglais" speakers, waiters are snooty about etiquette (you better know which of your 13 forks are for what!), unfriendly attitude in general, dogs have free rein of the streets, and CDG airport looks like it hasn't been upgraded since the 1960s... ultra-confusing nightmare to fly into. Paris' many annoyances just really detract from the experience.
Amsterdam is far more friendly and fun. Berlin is just as trendy and hip. London, Florence, and Rome are just as refined where it comes to cultural sites/museums. And in France, I prefer the southern part of the country (Nice), where folks are more laid back and the scenery just unfolds before you at leisure. |

it's a very special city and everybody should go there, but:
I prefer BERLIN because it's more underground
and for the atmosphere i love ROME |

I loved Paris. It definately has a certain air about it. It made me feel free and relaxed--very different then the USA. The Eifel tower is fantastic |

Paris is special in a way, it has it al and is a very beautiful city. I must say when I first saw the Eifel Tower for real, I was disapointed , it was small and grey. They have improved it since and it looks better now. The view from the second level you have over the city is wonderful, when you have good weather ofcourse. Expensive city but has it all. |

Anytime I'm in Paris I feel exactly what you're talking about. Paris has so much "Energy." Anytime I'm there I begin to write some of the greatest stuff. Paris can bring out the best in people..... |

Paris definitely had that something special for me,I absolutely loved it.After living in London 28 years it really shocked me how the French keep their Capital so clean, and contrary to many beliefs I found the French really friendly, but I think the Danish are the most friendliest people I have met. |

Paris has something . . magic, energy, aroma, whatever it is, everything is saturated in it. I live in NYC this city has a personality, one that's felt by everyone who steps foot on her sidewalks. Paris has the same concept. That is a specail place where things happen.
The lazy American can't bring itself to appreciate pride. Parisains love their culture, language, food, personality . . . something most Americans and a lot of America Lacks (greatly) To demand respect for something that's been worked on so vigorously to be the most perfect Paris it can, is something to appreciate and learn. |

Yes there is something special about Paris; it must be one of the most unfriendly capitals of the world. They are very arrogant (they can not accept that they are not a super power nation anymore) and there is nothing more overrated than French food, OK they have fat garlic cheese and baguettes, but that's it. |
