No, you wouldn't write it like that. And neither is correct. First of all "streets" is an English word. The French wouldn't use that, they'd use "rue" for road. Also, Streets is plural, so the plural is "les" not la or le.

pdrfer
you can not mix two languages like this.......in english you do not have gender so street is neither he or she........in french street is rue which is feminine...so you say la rue .....
Anyhow in your case i would write LES STREETS....because in french LES is used for plural in both genders

If you want to mix language, you say : Les streets

If you're talking about only one street you'd say : La street

In France, a word is either masculine or feminine. French equivalent of "the" is either "le" or "le" depending on the gender of the noun. Neither "le" or "la" have an accent on them. Masculine words take "le" and Feminine words take "la". "Les" is used for plural nouns and for either gender.

1) You may not realize it, but you are asking if an English word is masculine or feminine. In English, we don't assign gender to all our nouns, so it is not proper to ask that question.

2) As a few people have said, "streets" would be plural and it would take "les".

3) Accents over the letter "e" or "a" are used to signify stress. Their are different words in French that have accented e's and a's. But they are not called for in your example above.

SUE
No accent, and since Street is English, you would not put a le or la in front of them.

And since it's plural, it would be les, in any case. Les Rues.

And, you should be asking this in the languages section, anyway.
