patisserie is a pastry shop

Everything is easy to tell just by looking...most places have their products on the outside so you can tell if it is a friut stand, bread, etc. Other than that, resaurants are easy to deal with, just look at the menu or the sign of course. In larger cities you will find all the food choices you could imagine. Just don't over think it, relax and take everything moment by moment. You'll be fine...
