HELP! What are the worthwhile sights to see in Paris and in what order? I need a 3 day itinerary? |
I have 3 days in Paris. I live in France, and my friend is coming to visit. What are some of the good sights to see, and in what order? I want to do it the best/convenient way. Also, suggestions on hotels/hostels that I could stay in? And how do I get from sight to sight? These are the places that I was thinking: Sacre Couer, Eiffel Tower, The Louvre, Notre Dame, Champs Elysee. I'm not sure what order to do them in though. I also don't know if I need to make reservations at any of the places either. Help!! SUGGESTIONS on an itinerary. |

Hello-Paris

On my blog, I've a page to visit the main places in Paris in 2 days.
http://hello-paris.over-blog.com/
Of course, you can do that in 3 days if you don't want to run. And so you can visit Musée d'Orsay with calm, or the Louvre if you are interested...or doing shopping in Galeries Lafayette....
If you like huge visit, I suggest to go to Versailles.
To move in Paris, the best is to take the tube. You can also take buses. It's not so fast, but you will see....try the bus 73 which goes from Musée d'Orsay to La Défense, and driving alongside the Champs Elyées.
Welcome to Paris |

Cross the Louvre off your list unless you are an art fanatic. It will take too much time. Try Musee d'Orsay instead. Spend an entire day wondering around in the Latin Quarter (You can the Pantheon and Notre Dame while there-maybe Sainte Chapelle, too) Take the metro. Don't consider the Champs Elysee a destination, but l'Arc de Triomphe is. Can't tell you what order to visit as you should consider what day of the week you are there. :-) |

The best way to get everywhere is on the Metro. It is well marked and goes everywhere you need to go!
http://www.pariswelcome.net/metro/metro-paris.htm
The Eiffel Tower is available to be viewed from the outside but if you want to go to the top, you buy a ticket and get in line. There is no reservation for this. Notre Dame is a church and always open. Champs Elysee is a street and always available. Notre Dame, The Louvre are near each other; the Eiffel Tower and Champs Elysee are near each other and just jump on the Metro to go to Sacre Coeur. Part of the enchantment of Paris is wandering without a schedule. Wherever you go there is something to see/do and it is Paris, afterall!

Day 1
-eiffel tower
-louvre
-lunch at Cafe Prix
-Champs Elysee
Day 2
-Notre Dame
-boat ride on Sienne
-Montmarte (its a workout to get to the top but its an awesome view)
-Moulin Rouge
Day 3
I know its not in Paris but its near it and I would say definately dont forget to take your friend to Versaille.
as far as transportation while you are there, id say the metro is very inexpensive (like 1 euro each way) and easy to use. Or you can always just take a taxi. |

good luck I tried to see all of paris in 3 days and completely felt unsatisfied. There are too many sights to see in 3 days I stayed in Holtel Altona. It was cheap and beautiful and the peopel were extremely nice. It was in a pretty good area as well. |
