``HELP is there a metro or some kind of public transport from C. DE GAULLE airport to central Paris?

Yes.

There is a train station below the airport which goes into Paris city centre, connectingwith the metro network. The ticket office speaks English and accepts credit cards. It couldn't be simpler.

here's a picture we took on the airport platform as the train came in - http://www.lisashea.com/lisastrips/yr2005/davincicode/sun/mark/t_dsc00211.jpg

I was in Paris a little over a month ago, and I took the Air France shuttle bus from CDG to the Arc De Triomph. It's about 45 minutes long. There are 3 different routes. Even if you didn't fly on Air France, anyone can use it!

There is an RER train which goes straight to central Paris, or there are also Air France coaches. It's hard to say which would suit you best without knowing where exactly you're wanting to go. Feel free to email or IM me - I live in the Paris area and use CDG a lot (although admittedly I usually take my car!)

marijuani1962
You can get the RER line straight to Paris from the terminal, quick and easy!

Furby_115
I think there is! I always get there by train but I'm sure there is one on the airport may be you should go here and check if there is a station that is the web page of the Paris Metro.

LOL
Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) is the largest airport serving Paris and the second busiest passenger airport in Europe after London Heathrow.

Located 23 kilometres (14 miles) north-east of Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport offers numerous transport links to the French capital city by road and rail. Paris CDG Airport was one of the first airports in Europe to have an integrated train system serving it: the RER rapid TGV train service reaches central Paris in approximately 45 minutes, Disney World in ten minutes and Lille and Brussels in an hour. Regular RATP buses, taxis and limousines also operate from Paris CDG Airport, and road access from Paris is on the A1 via Porte de la Chapelle.

you can stop at "Chatelet les Halles", this is the city centre of Paris :-)

There used to be a bus directly from Le Jardin de Tuilleries near downtown Paris to de Gaulle airport.

I think there still is.

Hi,
there is a fantastic train system RER that takes you through central Paris. RER stations have metro connections.I'm quite familiar with Paris and off ther in 2 wks for my honeymoon. If you let me know roughly where you are aiming to get to i can give you more directions.

tokala
the RER B goes from the airport to Paris. the price of a ticket is 7 euros I think.

all the information you need about public transport in Paris are on this site (RATP is the name of the Parisian public transport)

Paul S, Bullfighter
Your choices are the RER B suburban train line, which runs from CDG to Gare du Nord and Chaletet stations in Paris, or the Air France buses, which run to the Arc du Triomphe, Gare Montparnasse, and I believe Gare du Lyon.

I've taken both, usually the train. I think they're both pretty good, and I can't really recommend one over the other.

There is not a regular Metro station at CDG, and your Metro tickets are not valid for travel on the RER, so be sure to stop at the Billeterie and buy RER tickets when you go back out, even if the train is right next to you waiting with its doors open. If you don't, you won't be able to get through the turnstiles in CDG, and you'll wind up paying a fine.

elle
there's a bus you can get from the airport to the opéra region of the city. you can follow the signs for it once through baggage claim. have a great trip

Wendsday's child
There are cabs, but I don't remember a train(though therecould be one.) I think that CDG is about 30-40 mins. from Paris. Have a nice trip

As far as I remember, there is a subway. You don't have to be worried, after you arrive in Paris, you may know how to get to the center of the city.
