Monmatre is a city built ontop of a hill. It was and still is a place where artists are inspired. It is home to the Moulin Rouge and Sacre Couer.

The Latin Quarter is like the college side of the city. Many intellectuals would study in La Sorbonne. Also, the quarter got its name because the university students only spoke Latin.

Here are others that I do not know to much about:
Montparness
La Defense

Hope you do good on your project.

First of all, there is the Right Bank and the Left Bank. or Rive Droit and Rive Gauche. The Right bank includes the opera house, the rue de Rivoli and all the major department stores like Galleries Lafayette and Printemps. The Left Bank, or what sometimes is referred to at the Latin Quarter includes the Sorbonne, rue St. Michel and is know more for cafes were artists and intellectuals hung out.

There is the Marais which is really the Jewish part of Paris. the Autieul, which is residential and quiet, the Champs Elysee, Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower are big tourist attractions and are beautiful to see at night.

There is also the Bois de Boulogne which is a beautiful park by day with lakes and boats you can rent. But don't go at night because it is dangerous with drug addicts and prostitution of every kind.

Montmartre is also a famous "quartier" because of it's artists and bohemian atmosphere. Pigalle is someplace you should probably stay away from as is Port St. Denis and the Gare de Nor. They are not really safe for tourists and I am speaking from experience.

Hope this helps give you an idea about Paris. Good luck with your project. Bonne chance!

In addition to the above, you should also know that Paris' "districts" are called Arrondissements and are numbered, beginning at the center of Paris and winding around in clockwise circles spiraling out. The last digits of the zip codes for all Paris addresses follow the numbers of the Arrondissements so it is easier to find where addresses are located within the city. Most places and areas are first located by which Arrondissements they are in.

Good luck with your project!

wow im in the same boat! well one thing i can tell you is they dont have towns they have arrondissements there are 25 of these signifying different parts of the city. they go duexieme arrondisement, troiseime arrondisiment etc i hope that helps that. as for the other thing well having visited a lot im only 15 and have already been there 6 times and am goin with school in july witch will make it 7 so i think the best places are tour eiffel very big thing arc de triumph and le lurvre hope you get a good grade.
