au = in the
re = again
voir = see

it's kind of like saying "in the next time I see you"

Au revoir is the standard good-bye. Some shopkeepers will add "bonne journee" (good day). "A ce soir" means "til tonight."(see you tonight). "A demain" means "til tomorrow" (see you tomorrow).

"au revoir", "adieu" or "a bien tot"

the first is a standard good bye, the second literally translates to "God be with you" so its used when you know u won't see the other person for a long time. the third is "see you soon"

is something you say to like older people or people you just met

is another way it means Hi and bye (like Aloha)
but yu only say it to people you really know like friends

Goodbye in french is: "Au revoir."

You could also say "Salut"

All you have to say is Chow and it just means bye, it doesn't mean good bye though, sry!
