Has anyone been to Rocamadour?

If so what did you think about it? Was it worth going to?

I liked it. Historically it is a famous pilgrimage site, (Catholic Shrine of Our Lady of Rocamadour) in the same league as Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexico. It is renowned for its Black Madonna.
You can also visit the Musée d'Art Sacré which contains sacred art treasures and various historical documents. It's dedicated to the late French composer Francis Poulenc, a modern pilgrim.
It is just plain beautiful in the south west of France. It would be an easy day trip from Toulouse, lots of walking so wear good shoes. If you're in the area, I think it is worth a visit.

OK if you are into religion. If not then the underground boat trip round the Padirac chasm (nearby) is more interesting.
