Help with deciding on apartment in Montorgueil or Jardin des Tuileries?

Hi!

Can someone please help me decide on what area is better to stay in? I have 2 apartment options. One by Jardin des Tuileries near the Louvre and the Tuileries metro, and the other in Montorguiel near the pedestrian neighborhood by Etienne Marcel metro. I need to decide today so please let me know which area is better as far as close to cool shops, bakeries, restaurants. Merci!!!!

they're both quite good places. You're lucky to have friends like that.

It's really difficult to decide : Jardin des Tuilleries would put you in a very nice area (wealthy kind of place... At least looks wealthy: I've never lived there, myself. I live in the suburbs) next to the louvre and the champs elysees. (and on top of the west-east subway line)
And the other one (etienne marcel metro station) is next to the central subway interconnection in paris, so from there it's easy to go anywhere you want. And it's right on top of a big mall.

Well, it's really up to you, but both are nice places. Sorry I'm not really helpful to you, this time.

Montorguiel sounds better for shops and bakeries and restaurants. Being close to a metro station helps with traveling just about anywhere else.

Montorgueil is better for shops but i believe there is (or there was) prostitues. I'm not sur about this, but if it's right, at night it's not very good... The Jardin des Tuileries is more central, but there's not lot of shops, restaurants...(for the bakeries, you can find them anywhere in Paris!).

Well, I'm not sur about what i say about Montorgueil at night, but i think it is right.

don't hesitate, take montorgueil !

it's not so quiet but it's very good deserve and you will find many restaurant, bakery and shops. no car on montorgueil streets and many streets around.

They are both fine but I think the option by the Louvre metro stop is the best. There are a few sort of dicey streets around the other option and the Louvre option is marginally closer to the Seine and the Left Bank.
