Holiday in France? |
My brother and his wife are coming over to visit from South Africa. He has asked me to look into a holiday in France for him while he is here, he wants to spoil his very ill wife for their anniversary. He would like something romantic and quiet, somewhere in the south rather than Paris. He also wants to know what the best way to get there is: car/ferry, train or fly? I am absolutely clueless and would really appreciate some advice from some of you worldly travellers...
Thank you

I suggest your brother to visit the Languedoc region, which is located close to the Spanish border. The weather is good and there are many traditional villages that offer cheap accommodation http://www.gites-de-france.com/gites/uk/rural_gites .
In order to get there, you can go by train: London/Paris/Montpellier with Eurostar and TGV (www.sncf.fr) .
Once in Montpellier, your brother can rent a car as nice villages are located in the countryside. Every Big rental company can be found in Montpellier. |

Ok my Gran lives in France in a tiny little village called Courry which is near St Ambroix. It's really beautifull in the hillside nothing but trees and its really quite stunning, I like the market on Tuesday too really nice food! Anyway we fly to Nimes Airport and drive there. dont know if that helps but I just thought it's the most impressive thing I've seen. |

Hi,
I used to travel all over the world since a fews years but now, I'm living in South of France (by Atlantic coast) and that the best place to stay for a while!
Beaches, castles, landscapes, restaurants and more...
So I will recommend you to go on South!
Best regards :) |
