Definitely allow a day and include a leisurely lunch to get your energy back. 5 hours is definitely enough in one day or take it more slowly over 2.

ik this may not answer your question but it is an amazing fact:

if you stood and looked at EVERY piece of art for 30 seconds each, it would take you 3 lifetimes to complete the whole museum :D

Rillifane
At any one given moment the Louvre has about 35,000 objects on display (The actual collection is almost 400,000 objects).

You can physically walk thru the entire Louvre and pass by everything in less than a day but to actually stop and look at every object on display is another matter.

If you spent only 10 seconds looking at each object on exhibit and were there only during normal opening hours it would take about 9 days to see everything.

3 days to do it properly.
But you'll stop taking things in after about 3 hours - u get overloaded and it's all wasted on u.

Just choose some areas u really want to see and concentrate on those.

I spent one entire day and did not see nearly anything!

Breathtaking!

YEARS! If you just want to have a glimpse at it, it will take three entire days.
