How Much is the average cost of a Wedding in France?
I'm getting married in Bordeaux (West Southern France) in April 2008 and so far our budget is 12000 euros. That would be for about 110 guests.
The thing is most wedding places are overbooked and you have to book at least 1 to 2 years before the date. This should be your priority if you want to get married in France.
Then finding someone to prepare the diner is your number 2 priority.
You then have to get a file in a mairie BUT the thing is you have to live in the city where you want to get married because you have to provide a proof (invoice where your address is featured) of where you're living. Civil wedding is required before you go to Church (that is if you wish to get married at Church).
"Honest prices" for a wedding dinner should be around 40 to 50 euros per guest (without wine and champagne). If it's cheaper, quality might not be there, if it's more expensive, either it's a chef, or someone who's famous.
Some region are more expensive than others : Paris and all the departements around, East Northern France, West Northern France (around Bordeaux).
Have a great wedding wherever you'll be having it!
