How do I get to Paris from the Charles de Gaule airport?

I will be arriving to Paris from Charles de Gaule airport. What is the best method (Taxi or airport shuttle) to get into Paris?

How long will it take to get to Paris from C D G?

Will it be too expensive to take a taxi?

Transportation between the airports and Paris is possible by car, taxi, bus, RER (train), privately-operated shuttles, and limousines. Your own choices may be influenced not only by your budget, but also by how much luggage you are carrying and your ultimate destination in Paris.

This website is really useful: it describes all the different options, best time to use which, sample fares: http://www.discoverfrance.net/France/Transportation/Air/airports_Paris1.shtml

The RER is a regional train network with stops at major railroad stations and Métro hubs in Paris. From the RER platforms at Charles de Gaulle Airport, you can reach the Gare du Nord, Châtelet-Les Halles, Saint-Michel, Luxembourg, and other stations of RER Line B. Connections to the Métro network and RER Line C (which runs along the left bank of the Seine) make it easy to get within 500 meters of any hotel in Paris, although you may want to take a taxi instead of the Métro if you're burdened with luggage and arriving in the city center at rush hour.
How to ride the RER: After you've retrieved your bags and gone through customs, look for a "Gare" sign with a train symbol. (CDG has two RER stations: one for Terminals 1 and 3, and the other at Terminal 2.The terminals are connected by a free CDGVAL shuttle train.)

At the RER station, you can buy tickets in two ways:

In the ticket office, where the clerks accept payment by cash or credit card.

Note: The Paris Visite transportation card is valid for transportation to and from Charles de Gaulle Airport, and you can buy it at any RER ticket window at CDG.

Once you have your ticket, follow the signs to the platforms. When you've descended the escalator, check the electronic signboard for train departure times and platform numbers. Trains normally depart every 10 to 20 minutes between 5 a.m. and midnight.

If you choose to go by taxi (probably 80-90 Euros), here's the link for taxi and their fares:

I recommend taking the RER train. The trains are frequent, reasonably priced, and no problem with traffic as in a taxi or bus. The trip is only about 15 minutes, depending on which stop you go to in Paris. In a city where a cup of coffee can cost 4 euros, I guess a taxi could be prohibitively expensive, like more than 30 euros for sure. Take the RER and you'll have some extra money for souvenirs.

A taxi is expensive, but you can use the bus from CDG (every 15 minute and 8.50 euros/ticket) to the Garnier Opera, just in the center of Paris. From here it will be very easy to go to your hotel, even by a taxi. Bon voyage !

Taxi's are expensive. I always take the Roissy Bus which costs 8.5 euros and goes from CDG to the Opera House in Paris. From there, if your hotel is far, you could take either a taxi or the subway to your hotel.

Take a bus, take a train (RER), take whatever but a taxi, it´s a long and $$ run. Suggest to buy an inexpensive oneday pass for all kind of public transportation: train, bus metro funicular. etcc
When you arrive CDG, just inquire at any official information booth.
Welcome in my territory ;-)

Ev
we took the roissy bus to the opera district, then a taxi to our hotel
