If you've got time, take the train. No traffic, a few stops and beautiful scenery. I think it's the most relaxed manner of transport. Just sit back enjoy the ride and the view... you might even meet people which makes it all the more itneresting.

I'd suggest trains. They're really good in both Germany and Europe. They also take away the anger associated with trying to drive.

You can do a hitchhike to Germany or take a train. Check for train schedule at - www.bahn.de
Or international bus at - www.eurolines.com

If you are in Paris then go to the Gare de l'Est it is where all the trains going east leave from(hence the name).
Almost all the trains going to Germany are ready to board there. Buy a ticket and enjoy the ride!
The TGV will start service only in June 2007 and will be hight speed only in France not Germany
