I think that things are changing now.
In the past Bretagne was considered by other french as a place where the inhabitants were behind the times (mostly because most of them were farmers or fishermen, speaking breton, with women having a very important place in the society, very catholic - because people have been forced to it a long long time ago, conservative toward their culture).
Nowadays, things have changed and are still changing. Thanks to tourism and to the quality of life we have here (I say here because I'm breton). More and more people are moving to this region (but mostly retired who can afford it and don't need to find a job what is not the easiest thing here for a lot of profession).
Bretagne is famous for its landscape, its patrimony, its gastronomy (crêpes - pancakes -, cidre - cider -, seafood, cakes and cookies...), its culture (even if this was still considered as an old fashioned and bad one 15 years ago) mostly including music and dance, and... its weather, yes in Bretagne it's raining quite often, it's true, but at least it's not raining too much and we don't suffer of floods. We have a really temperate weather. Breton people are now said to be friendly and welcoming, and still stubborn ! |

Brittany is known for the crêpes, the cidre, and the rain (I don't say it rains all the time, I say that the prejudice is that it rains all the time in Brittany). It's really a wonderful place, I like it so much !! especially Saint-Malo. |

"Ils ont des chapeaux ronds, vive la Bretagne
Ils ont des chapeaux ronds, vive les Bretons !"
They have a reputation for being stubborn and chauvinistic.
For obvious geographic reasons it's the french region that values the most the link to the sea.
Les crêpes (galettes bretonnes) are excellent.
It rains frequently but every britton tells you that his own place has an excellent, sunny micro-climat.
it's beautiful ! |

a lot of french laugh about the Bretons but only for fun most of the time..
I go to Brittany each year since I was born so I haven't any prejudice about them and I find them totally normal , just like the rest of french ^^ |
