How do you get a job in France?

I'm moving to France in the next year. My husband is French, so I'll have the nationality. I really want to get a job with an American company or entity like the embassy (long shot). I have no idea how to really find a job abroad.Monster.com wasn't very helpful. Any ideas?

Bonjour,

Bon courage

You might get lucky and land a job before you get there. I wouldn't fret it if you don't. It might take adapting to your new environment before you actually hit it off the "french connection." You might try contacting companies based here in the U.S. to see if they would be interested in hiring you as a liaison in France... Keep your mind open for unconventional avenues for communication and think outside the box when looking for opportunities. Check with companies that already have ties between the U.S. and France. Who knows, one might hire you here...or there. Good luck! A votre sante to you.

Consider international organizations (you've mentioned the embassy), which are headquartered in Paris: UNESCO (job vacancies are here: http://portal.unesco.org/en/ev.php-URL_ID=11707&URL_DO=DO_TOPIC&URL_SECTION=201.html) and OECD (http://erecruit.oecd.org/servlets/iclientservlet/erecruit/?ICType=Panel&Menu=ROLE_APPLICANT&Market=GBL&PanelGroupName=ER_VIEW_JOBS&RL=&target=main)
