It kinda sounds like Zher-ahhd. The G is a soft g/j sound and and the emphasis is on the second syllable - "ahhd." I would suggest attempting to say his name and then immediately asking whether you said it correctly. He will appreciate the effort. Good luck on your interview.
As for not pronouncing the d - you don't - but don't leave the h hanging completely either...

It sounds like "zhErAr", without the hearing the final "D"...But if the person is your interviewer, you should know that french people are very polite, meaning you should call them by their first name (familly name) and not by their given name (the case here Gerard). Good luck!
