How do you say "Chilli Cheese Dog" in french?

Well, the French word for "hot dog" is le "hot dog" There is no exact translation for chili cheese dog but you might explain it as "le saucisson americain avec fromage et une sauce tres chaude." (american sausage with cheese and hot sauce). If you made a chili cheese dog and served it to French ppl, they might like it or at least be amused that they get to try something American. OTOH, I don't recall ever seeing any hot dogs (American style) or hot dog buns in France.

Just like you said it... "Chili Cheese Dog" is an AmeriKan NOUN.. it's a PROPER NAME and it would pass through into French, unchanged... BUT... you can't BUY a Chili Cheese Dog in France because THEY DON'T SELL THEM, nor would they even know what the f#@k you were talking about.

there is no translation for this.
was born and raised in France and never even seen a chili cheese dog,it is typical from the US.
have not even seen beans on any sandwiches,
it just does not exist..

@jerry71 : as a french i don't know what is a chili cheese dog... so just to tell you that hot sauce in french is "sauce forte" or "sauce épicée" (spicy sauce). the word "chaude" is used for warm (or for hot in its sexual way). and maybe you mean sausage as a "saucisse" and not "saucisson".
BUT
@AP : After a short research on the web, I now know what is a chili cheese dog, but how to translate it... maybe you can say "sandwich avec des haricots rouges et du boeuf (comme du chili con carne) et une sauce au cheddar et aux oignons" (sandwich with red beans and chopped beef (like chili con carne) and a sauce made of cheddar and onions). So in french it will be difficult to give a short name to this, so mabe you can keep the english/american name or try "sandwich au chili con carne et cheddar"
