How do you say "cell phone" in french?

????????????????

Show all answers

Cabal
Le portable or le téléphone portable when you want to be precise or mark the difference with the laptop which can also be called le portable.

Odile
Téléphone cellulaire is correct, but téléphone portable is used more in everyday conversation. Actually, the téléphone part is usually dropped and people just refer to "le portable" or "mon portable".

I have never heard anybody call it a mobile (That's more British).

zachwhite82
I think it's, téléphone portable
