Le portable or le tÃ©lÃ©phone portable when you want to be precise or mark the difference with the laptop which can also be called le portable.

TÃ©lÃ©phone cellulaire is correct, but tÃ©lÃ©phone portable is used more in everyday conversation. Actually, the tÃ©lÃ©phone part is usually dropped and people just refer to "le portable" or "mon portable".

I have never heard anybody call it a mobile (That's more British).
