Comment ça-va? - s
Comment allez-vous? - p

If you want to make any more translations, check out the yahoo translator, google translator, or you can search for a different one.

"comment vas-tu?" (singular) or "comment allez-vous?" (plural).

note that "comment vas-tu?" is quite rare, we (i'm french!) rather say "ça va?" (or "comment ça va?" and sometimes "comment tu vas?")

you can just say ca va? or comment ca va?. (don't know if the last one is well written)

"Ca va?" is a casual greeting & loosely translates to "How's it going?"

A formal greeting -- which is used addressing more than one person OR a superior, elder, or someone you don't know well: "Comment allez-vous?"

- Comment vas-tu ? (singular)

and

- comment allez-vous ? (plural)

Comment est tu? (singular)
Comment est vous (plural)

However, I have been taught, that it is good etiquette, when addressing an adult it is more respectable to use the plural form, and is considered as singular in the referring to asking just one adult.

"Ca va?" or "Ca va bien?" would be the familiar form to one person, but is probably ok to say to a group of people if you are not really expecting an answer, but using it more as a form of greeting. You can use Comment in front of that, but french people just say ca va with a question tone most of the time.

If you really want to know how a person or group of people are, you'd want to ask a more formal question along the lines of comment allez vous? Or ask qu'est-ce que se passe, or something like that.

Comment allez vous ?

I totally agree with AmandaK (im not french but dutch) and wether singular or plural you mainly hear Ca va? They even use it as a way of greeting to which you reply Oui ca va. (trust me they are not really inquiring how you are.lol)
