Its simple to get there with the Metro.

Take Metro line 7 from the Corentin-Cariou station which is less than a 10 minute walk from your hotel.

Look for the train marked "Direction : Villejuif-Louis Aragon" and take it to the Stalingrad station.

Change to Metro line 2 and take the train marked "Direction : Nation" to the Philippe Auguste station.

When you leave the station look for the rue Pierre Bayle and follow it for about 100 meters to the Cemetery entrance.

A car is probably the slowest way. Only an American would ask that.
Take the metro and save the planet's oil.
La Villette is in Paris (it's not a suburb as someone else claimed).
Take Metro line 7 from Correntin Carriou (nearest metro station to Ibis La Villette). Change at Stalingrad (about three stops) for Metro line 2 which takes you to Pere Lachaise, five or six stops.
Average time between metro stops is one and a half minutes.

You can take the Métro.
Use the RATP Website to check the itinerary. You can select your means of transportation
http://www.ratp.com/
Your hotel stops are Ourcq and Corentin Cariou.

To find the Père Lachaise stops, check this Wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/P%C3%A8re_Lachaise

It seems like you can get there in less than 30 minutes by Métro.
Have a great time!

The Metro is your only option because walking is out of the question. Vilette is a suburb of Paris far from central Paris.

Here's some info on your hotel.

The Ibis Paris La Villette 19eme hotel is located in the north-east of Paris, facing the canal de l Ourcq, 400 m from the Cite des Sciences-La Villette and 3 km from the Buttes Chaumont. Roissy airport is 18 km away. The hotel has 284 rooms with Wifi Internet access including 6 adapted for disabled persons. You can book 3 meeting rooms. LA TABLE restaurant, a bar, snacks 24-24 and private covered pay parking are at your disposal. Pets accepted. Take the Boulevard Peripherique, exit Porte de la Villette, direction of Place de Stalingrad. From the train bridge traversing the road, count three stopping lights, turn left into the Rue de l Ourcq. When the road splits up, take a left.
