For the maternelle (four years old) and elementary level you have 24 hours a week with two additional hours for those needing additional schooling. This is usually done in four days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
At 11 years old when you enter secondary school (6th grade) you go to school Monday to Friday.
You have 25h30 of mandatory schooling plus a few other non mandatory subjects. This will become 28h30 in fourth grade at 13 years old, plus non mandatory subjects. Then 31 to 34 hours in third grade (14 years old) and depending what theme you choose (litterature, science, maths, economy) you add up to 10 more hours as you rush down to the final exam at 17/18 years old. |

When you're a child (from 3 to 10), you have 4 days per week at school, not on the wednesday.
After, from 11 to 16-17, there are 5 days per week, and sometimes, during the three years before the "baccalaureat", students work on saturday too. |

It depends on what grade you're in - i.e the number of hours of class per week
Primary school is only monday to friday, and in some places there's no class on wednesdays.
Middle school will typically go from monday to friday + saturday mornings, pretty much all day
High school is usually those days as well, but usually a bit more flexible (not every saturday for instance).
And then university... is completely different matter. |
