Try searching on orbitz.com for various flights and how long they take. A basic look there at a flight from CDG to PIT via EWR (Newark) is as such:

CDG to EWR 8hr
~ 2hr layover
EWR to PIT 1hr 25 min
Total Of 11hr 20 min
This flight was part of a round trip and is unavailable as a one-way ticket.

Here's the shortest series of flights I found to Erie:
CDG to MAN (Manchester UK) 1hr 30min
1 hr Layover
MAN to PHL (Philadelphia) 7hr 40min
1hr 40 min Layover
PHL to ERI 1hr 23min
Total of 13hr 13min

Different days and different airlines will have different flight times.

I would assume that you will arrive in a major East Coast city, such as Philadelphia or New York. Plan on the flight taking about seven hours, because you are flying against the wind. Depending on your connections and the size of the plane going to Erie, I would say it would take another hour or so to fly from a major East Coast city to Erie.

You will most likely stop at a bigger airport. We did in Pittsburg. Total traveltime was about 9 hours.

Depending on the airline and hub city (for Continental, it will be Newark) the flight from Paris to the East Coast will be about 7 hours. From Newark, you'll fly about an hour and a half...Erie is the fourth largest city in PA - on the same side of the state as Pittsburgh. It will probably be a commuter plane - these are slower and more fun.

Have a great trip....bon voyage
