I have been to Paris twice and I still have to go back and see more. There is so much to see and do in Paris, that it is neverending. It sounds so cliche, but it is definetly an amazing city. You need to spend at least a week, but I definetly recommend more time there. From my experience I met some really cool and nice French people.

What is your reason in going to the city of light If its for the arts than I found that 1 week was almost enough time to see the major sites. the Louve will be at least a day. taking the metro out to Versai a second day trip, then the ususl site around town 2 days, go to the Eifle tower and eat in Lae attatude on the 2nd leval landing you can see the city from there, if your a Doors fan like me, then you will want to see Jims grave. another day you can go to Mommante Sacur Clure church and Notra Dame you will want some time to get rest. best way to get around is by walking and the metro. Have fun its a great place and remember your going to Paris they eat and dine a lot different than we americans do be more like the french and you will be fine but act like most rude american travelers who think that its the same there. Than my friend you will not be a happy travler you will be not be treated nicly. When the french eat out they dine. its very commen for a meal to be 1-2 hours long. your waiter will not bother you until you signal them so PLEASE Don't snap your fingers or whistle and don't be surprised to see a dog eating at the table next to you.. Enjoy your trip

Think of Paris as you would of London and NYC. You could spend 2 weeks there and never run out of places to visit. IMHO, Paris is worth at least 3 days and 2 nights there and you will probably want to make a return trip. But it really helps to have a French speaking person travel with you if you don't know some French.

Stay how much you can. Paris is a wonderful city, with a great history, art and culture, in a word, with an unforgettable charm.

Depending on what do you like and how much time do you have, I would say 5 nights...??

Look on the bright side.
