The tip is already included in the bill for restaurants, and youjust wouldn't tip a taxi cab, otherwise you might arrive at a different destination and get some creepy looks! haha! Anyway, if you found the service or food EXCEPTIONAL than feel free to leave what you want but don't feel like they look at you weirdly if you don't. Happy travelling, J'ADORE PARIS!

Unlike in America, cafes and restaurants in Paris and the rest of France directly include a 15 percent service charge in your check.

Prices on menus include these amounts.

If you like the service a small additional amount can be left, usually no more than the small change you might receive when paying.

If you're planning on being a repeat customer, for example at the cafe next to your hotel, then being a tiny bit more generous may prove to be a worthwhile investment. On my last trip in March the waiter at the cafe I frequented would bring me a free drink, "supersize" portions, and generally go above and beyond to keep me happy. I'd like to think it had something to do with my beinng a pleasant person but leaving an extra euro or so was likely the main reason.

Cab drivers are usually tipped from 5 to 10 percent of your fare.

An American should be generous.

depends on the quality of the service and how generous you feel. restaurant bills in paris already inlcude 15% service charge.

France is not really a place to tip anybody. They don't expect it, and you'll be all right if you don't do it. Otherwise, anything will be considered nice, but more than 5 to 10% could be construed as being a bit weird (like, implying you want more from the waitress than food and drink).

Don't tip too much as it cansend wrong signals as well

Is it not 10% - where it says Service Non Compris otherwise its in the bill I think........its all euros and I would'nt tip a taxi driver anywhere unless he had done something fantastic
