I wanted to know how much could beer cost in France. And if any of you know, if food is generally expensive there. I am planning a trip this summer and I wanted to know what budget I should have for food --and beer, I make a beer budget, planning on having a lot of fun ;o)

If you go to a bar, the average price varies between 2,50€ and 3,50€ for 1/4 liter but if you want to buy a pack of beer, go to a supermarket where you can buy a pack of 24 Kronenburgs for about 8€ (6 liters). The smaller stores are good in case of an emergency but the beer there is usually much more expensive.

do you mean to consume at home or out?
a 6 pack is about 4 euros in a store, depending on which brand?
in a cafe? is 2 to 4 euros, depending on where you are and go?
no, food is not expensive not more than the US
just came back from France, lived there for 10 years, back in the US now,
and compared? food is cheaper in France even with the Euros/dollars differences.

some stores are cheaper than others also.
have a good time .
where are you going?

If you go to a hypermarket like Auchan or Carrefour, you can save money. Lots of money. OTOH, those stores are usually out of town so you will have to have a car.

it varies, depending on the brand. But remember, it is in the Euro and that is worth way more than USD. Seriously though, the beer here in germany is wayyyy better. Try it some time, germany is not far from france at all.

Why would you go to France to drink BEER?

You go to France for their wine, and romance and whatnot...if you want beer, go to Germany, or Ireland.
