When you say you have 7 hours consider that:

1. It will take an hour or so to deplane and clear passport control if you are a Canadian citizen. If you are an Iranian citizen you require a visa that must be obtained BEFORE you enter France.

2. No matter how you travel from the airport to the Eiffel tower you should expect to spend an hour of travel each way.

3. You must return to the airport 2 hours prior to departure.

Therefore 1 hour to deplane and clear passport control + 2 hours travel to and from the airport + return 2 hours prior to departure = 5 hours

If you hadn't considered these times then you really have no more than 2 hours.

About 60 US dollars each way... plus the 1.25 hours during normal hours.

Consider taking a trip to the nearest metro and back. Paris is a ***** during normal business hours. The metro, while not great, is much easier and reliable than a taxi.

At least 60 euros each way. The taxi meter jumps every two seconds. You still have to account for Paris's famous traffic jams. I strongly suggest you take the RER/metro, which is efficient and cheap. The RER is a train service that links Paris central to its suburbs. From CDG Aeroport you can take the RER to Chatelet Les Halles station, which takes about 40 minutes. Alight there and take the metro Line 1 to Champs Elysees Clemenceau station, then take Line 9 and alight at Trocadero station. That's where the Eiffel Tower is. It may sound complicated but it really is simple and fast. Trains arrive every few minutes. And yes, you would land at Charles de Gaulle (CDG). That's Paris's international airport.

Ummm. You need to be at the airport something like three hours before your connecting flight. (check to be sure) And international flights are notoriously later than domestic flights. You might not get in with enough time to do anything before you are supposed to be back at the airport for your connecting flight. I know. Sucks, but those are the facts. DonÂ´t count on being able to do anything.

and, yes, itÂ´s probably Charles De Gaulle. The other international in Paris is Orly.

Well if your plan on arriving into CDG between 6am-11pm, you can grab on an Air France Coach, line 2, to the Arc. Once there, you an grab a taxi for about 10 euro and make your way to the Eiffel tower. Taking the Air France Coach costs 15.50 euros per person round trip. Your going to want a buy a round trip to get back to CDG once your done. So by going this way, you can eliminate having to use Pairs' public transit system. This in your case is going to be a benefit since time won't be of the essences. However, if you want to grab a taxi, you can but thats going to set you back at least 80 euros one way.

i stayed in a hotel near to the eiffel tower last summer,and from charles de gaulle airpot to my hotel,it cost 60 euros.
It took around 40 mins from the airpot to my hotel,so i'm sure you'll have plenty of time to do some sightseeing!!
if the price is too high,there is a shuttle bus which runs from the airport to the centre of paris and only costs 8 euros!!!
it is quicker than a taxi,allowing you plenty of time to explore the centre of the city aswell---as it stops right outside l'opera house,in the middle of the shopping district,and within a 10 minute taxi ride to the eiffel tower!!

Quicksilver has got it right - unless money is no object (which i think it is, otherwise you wouldn't be asking), save the money with the Air France bus to either Etoile or Invalides, and take a taxi from there (don't bother with the metro, you might risk getting lost even though it's very well thought out). And if ultimately you're short for time after gazing at the wonder for so long, you can always take a fast cab back :))

P.S: taxi will be about 30-40 euros each way, not the 60 or 80 i read above
