I am a little confused about your question, though -- you are staying in Marseille for 3 weeks, but going to France for 5 days... hmmm... did you mean Paris for 5 days/
Regardless, I would probably budget 50 euro per day (so that your time in Marseille (when you wouldn't necessarily be using that much money) will make up for the 5 days in Paris that you will be spending considerably more...
So..... that is 1050 Euro... which works out to be roughly 1600 US Dollars...
You could certainly do it for less though...

When traveling in Europe you should probably budget $60-100 (american dollars) for spending money.
Hopefully, you have your accommodations in order already for the 5 days you will be on your own.

ALOT of money..i went two years ago and stayed for a wk and spent about 1K and didnt even shop..it was on food gonig out at night and sightseeing
