First - go to Orbitz www.orbitz.com or Expedia www.expedia.com to get a general idea of the airlines with the lowest fares. If you're not set on an exact date you can search within a range of dates to find the lowest rates.

For ex - I just did a quick search on CDG to ATL in March and your ticket would be between $580 - $640.

Then - go to the individual airlines' websites. Many times you'll get cheaper fares than on the travel sites (esp without all the taxes).

United Airlines, American Airlines, Lufthansa, and SAS are probably your best bet.

I am going to Germany in March and I am also flying out of Atlanta (or Savannah). After searching several places I came upon www.airlineconsolidator.com they seem to have better deals than other places.

I paid $400 per ticket (RT) from BHM to CDG for March. I got my best deal on Yahoo travel, back in october.
It pays to look early and be prepared to jump on a deal when you see it. they don't last long. I always do a flexible search and Yahoo is the only site that'll let you do that for international flights. Also you can click on flights and then click on Dream maps. this will show you all of the deals from the location you want to fly from.

I know I sound like an ad for Yahoo travel, but on average, they offer the best deals, plus the site is easy to use.

Good luck!
