How to get from France to UK with car?

Hello!
I would like to go with my girlfriend in our car from France to UK but I don't know is there some road that goes under the railway or not? If there's no road for cars under the earth is it possible to put my car on the train and get across the sea? And how much is the ticket for person and for the car on that train? Also how much is the ticket for person and for the car if I go by ferryboat(this is the only solution isn't it?
Thanks for the answer.I am from Serbia so I don't know who to ask.
Thanks.
Aleksandar

Ferry or channel tunnel train.
There is no road under the channel.

Tickets range from about 180 euros one way on the Eurotunnel trains.

You can take the Eurotunnel shuttle - you drive onto the train, then the train takes you to Folkestone where you drive off. Otherwise you can take the ferry. You can't actually drive under the Channel - the Channel Tunnel is a rail tunnel only. Make sure your visas are in order

The ferry is MUCH cheaper than the train. Take it from Calais.

Car ferry or channel tunnel. The link is for a website that gives you all the options.

Here is the website:

http://www.eurotunnel.com/ukcP3Main/ukcPassengers/

You take your car to the terminal at Calais and you drive onto a special train. You sit in your car during the train journey under the sea which takes about 30 minutes. In England you drive off of the special train and join the road network.

Tickets are priced per car - it doesn't matter how many people you have in it.

The only other solution is ferry - another answer gives a site which will give you prices for all the options.

There's the Eurotunnel, you go to Calais, buy a ticket and drive your car onto the train, and they transport you across under the sea.

You can also take the ferry, simply buy your ticket and drive the car onto the ferry, but it takes a lot longer to get across. However, you can leave from more places in France.

James S
yes, you can get the ferry which takes longer but it's much more of an experience, or you can take eurotunnel. The eurotunnel goes from dover to calais, is probably cheaper. but the ferries (based on brittany ferries) go from and to:

- Portsmouth to Caen
- Portsmouth to St Malo
- Portsmouth to Cherbourg
- Poole to Cherbourg
- Plymouth to Roscoff
- Cork to Roscoff

So you can also take returns.

Good Luck, and have a good time,

James:)

You can put your car on the train or a ferry - these are the options.

You can get a deal online:

You can either take your car on the Euro-Tunnel car train or you can drive to Calaise and go to UK from France on a car ferry.

This link below gets you all the information you need about taking your car to UK from France via Euro-Tunnel or Ferry.
