You need an employment, sponsored by French company, but then again there are so many illegal workers here in my class, most of them are international students from all over the place, Middle East, Eastern Europe, Latin America...blah blah...
The irony is the professors even help them write their CVs, ( the joke is if they are caught the professors go to prisons)!
Since it is illegal those overseas student with student visa who have no authority to work in France if they do they risk deportation, underpayment, and other insecurity issues. |

If you are rich and have proof of sufficient income to support yourself, you need to apply for a visa to reside there. If you need to work, you will need a work visa...very difficult to get as citizens of all other E.U. countries are ahead of Americans. See site below to research visa requirements. Click on their map on the area you live in , then contact the appropriate consulate or use their website to learn visa requirements. |

You can't just move to France. US passport holders are allowed to visit as tourists and stay in the country for 90 days out of every 180 days.
To live in France, or stay for a longer period, you need either a EU passport or a work visa. Generally to get a work visa you will need employment organised beforehand, and this will be difficult as EU citizens will get preference over you. However, if you have a skill that is in short supply in the EU, then it shouldn't be a problem. |

First off you're going to need a passport, these can take quite a few months so do that first. second find a service that'll move your possessions overseas. When you get to france you will probably need to stay in a hotel for awhile til you find a place to live so I would hold off on them shiping your things over til you actually have a place, and just pack a suitcase or two. Another thing, search online for housing first and call/email around just to make sure there are places available, let them know you will be visiting and would like a tour. Most countries only allow a month before you have to get your visa stamped so be sure to do that within the first few weeks because you never know what the migration office will be like if they do it right there, or if you give them the paperwork and they send it back to you.
Good luck! |
