If you are arriving from London on Eurostar you will arrive at Gare du Nord. From Gare du Nord take RER (Regional Express train - not metro) line B (the blue line) south to St. Michel - two stops.

Change trains at St. Michel on to RER line C (the yellow line). The platform for trains to Versailles is sign posted - look for signs marked 'Château de Versailles' - the station name is 'Versailles - Rive Gauche'. On the front of the train you will see 4 letters - take any train whose first letter is V as not all trains go to Versailles.

The total trip should take 50 minutes.

Versailles is open - I was there last week. It is a good time of year to go - just as the leaves are turning. The park is wonderful. If you have time you should visit two other nearby châteaux - Petit Trianon and Grand Trianon as well as the private village of Marie-Antoinette. They are all located in the Park behind the Versailles château.

Bonjour, take the RER train to Versailles from Gare du Luxembourg, south of Paris !

Easy! Take the train from London Waterloo to Paris Gare du Nord. Then the Metro to (I think - but best check first) Gare de Austerlitz. Then another train straight to Versailles. You could also fly into Paris CDG airport and take the airport express train to Gare du Nord instead. Have a nice trip!

if you're in paris only for a day, it will not be worth going to versailles. you'll just be spending your time in the train, in and out, without seeing or experiencing anything. time better spent in paris.

It will take about 15mins on a good day, but at this time year the gardens and not at there best and there is a lot of maintenance work going on. It takes quite a long time to look round the house so it will take up much of your day, but it is worth it.

The train is the best way. Not sure what part of Paris you're in, but I usually stay in Montparnesse. I take the train to Versailles from the Montparnesse train station. Versailles is about a 30 minute train ride. When you get off at the station in Versailles you will have to walk a little ways up to the Palace, but it is definitely easy to see.

Gonna need to go very fast to do that on a day trip. Personally I think it's madness and would be much nicer in Spring. But then you didn't ask me before booking. :)

To Versailles France is 15 kms from the outskirt of Paris. Take the métro (tube) to the terminus Pont de Sèvres then take the bus (autobus) straight to Versailles. That's the best way and also to cross the surroundings. Amitiés. Salut.

RER C goes to Versailles

But there are several stops so etter know which one you want

I would try and find an email address and make sure the place is open. In August we heard there was flood damage and it wasnt open...
The RER train may be your best bet...
