You can take a train that goes through the Channel tunnel. I understand that there are connections from Birmingham, but if you want to start out from London, a new terminal has just been opened at St. Pancras. You will be told which route to take when you go to buy a ticket.

Alternatively, you could book a coach trip to France, and the coach will drive on to the Channel Shuttle train at the Folkestone terminal with you on it!

You could also opt to take a coach that goes to Dover, and drives onto a ferry. During the ferry crossing you are free to leave the coach and walk around on the ship or use its facilities.

Several routes, several choices.

Hi Tammie,
You would go by Eurostar train from St. Pancras International Station in London to Paris via the Euro Tunnel under the English Channel

I have taken the Eurostar to both Brussels (en route to Amsterdam) and Paris. The Brussels trip was 2nd class but was comfortable and quick enough. The Paris trip was 1st class due to an offer of an upgrade for just £10 each way, but that was a few years ago when the service operated out of Waterloo.

I would nonetheless recommend it over flying as there is no 2 hour check-in or long wait for baggage collection at your destination, all of which could add up to the train journey time alone. Also, the Eurostar terminates at Gar du Nord in Paris which is closer to the city centre than either of the airports

.Whatever you choose, enjoy your time in Paris.

Go to new street and buy a ticket to your destination in France .From new street there will probably be several changes of train but you will arrive (via the channel tunnel) at your destination eventually. I got a plane from Edinburgh to Manchester once as it was cheaper than the train so flight costs to your destination may be worth looking into.

There's a tunnel under the sea between Folkstone and Calais and the train goes under there. I think you can get the London-Paris train in Waterloo Station in London, but I'm not sure. We drove from Pembroke in Wales across England to Folkstone where we simply drove our car onto the train, and we were across in under 30 minutes.
