a belle-soeur is a sister in law!!!

I have 3 step-sisters is:
"J'ai trois demi-soeurs"

phonetically it's:
jay tchrwoi de-mee sorrch
The "de-mee" is said like the first to letters of "dirty" no "r" then an "m" sound with a long "e" after that.
sorry about the trois as tchrwoi...the "r" sound is hard to desribe.
the "jay" has a soft "j" sound, like when an American tries to say "Jauques". I hope that helped at least a little!

I'm not sure if you wanted "thanks" as well...but if you wanted to say: "I have 3 step-sisters, thanks" you would say:
"J'ai trois demi-soeurs, merci" the "merci" is pronounced: "merch-sea"

*don't stress the "ch" sound too much. it's gentle. Hearing a French speaker say this will help you understand the "r" letter pronounciation much better than in print.
