Whenever I travel, I use the following website: www.tripadvisor.com. Do a search on Paris, France and click on hotels. They will list 1,782 hotels with traveler reviews of each of them. We are going this September to Paris and after a lot of research, we chose Hotel Motte Picquet which is currently #26. I am paying for a double room and it is $217/night. It is a ten minute walk to the Eiffel Tower. This is their website:
http://www.paris-hotel-mottepicquet.com/new_site/en_hotel.htm
No matter what hotel you choose, I found that you get a better rate by booking through the hotel. Be prepared, the rooms in Europe are much smaller than what we are used to in the U.S. But, I don't plan on spending much time in the room.
Tripadvisor.com is also a great site for finding "things to do" in Paris. Enjoy your trip.. |

You should understand that Paris is a very compact city. There is no place in Paris proper that is more than a short ride from the Eiffel Tower (which is on the west side of Paris) . All the airports are in suburbs and have some sort of rail connection to the center city. So no place in Paris proper is much closer to any of the airports than any other.
So, what does this mean? It means that your choice of hotel location should be based on all the other sightseeing, dining and nightlife activities that you will pursue during your trip rather than the single visit to the Eiffle Tower and going to and from the airport.
That being so, you should look for a hotel in the 4th, 5th, or 6th arrondissements which are within easy walking distance of dining, sightseeing and entertainment options.
The question then becomes one of cost.
My favorite hotel is thee St. Andre des Arts in the 6th arrondissement. http://www.123france.co.uk/en/0/hotel-saint-andre-des-arts-paris_486_en/index.html It costs 89 € for a double.
More expensive is the Hotel Left Bank St. Germain which is just arond the corner http://www.paris-paris.com/hotel_left-bank_saint-germain.php
Cheaper is the Hotel des Allies in the 5th http://www.alliesparishotel.com/ |
