I'm going to Paris for 2 full days and 3 nights. What are the must dos?

Arriving Thursday night around 11:30pm
Leaving Sunday early in the morning

We were thinking the Louvre on Friday and the Eiffel Tower on Saturday evening after a nice dinner. We don't have any extensive knowledge on the city itself so recommendations are welcome... maybe even some "tradition" type activities i.e. popping champagne at the top of the Eiffel Tower.

We are 3 students and this is our last weekend trip before we return to our respective states in the U.S. and we want to go out with a BANG! :) We've done too much of the partying drinking dancing deal and we would appreciate something different, but not too expensive.

Got your skates with you? If so, head down to the Place D'Italie Friday night at 10 PM and join the skate thru the city. The organizers change the route every week but try to skate by historically interesting places. The police, who once tried to stop it, have given up and now have a squad of cops on skates to go with the group and keep everyone out of trouble. An ambulance follows the crowd in case someone takes a tumble.

As for sightseeing, you can see quite a bit of city in two days since its fairly compact, there's great public transportation, and a large percentage of the standard tourists sights are in a narrow band on either side of the river.

Stroll down the Champs Elysees singing the song at the top of your lungs (many versions available on itunes) and pop into some of the more interesting stores. At the end of the Champs Elysees, you will come to the Arc de Triomphe, which you should climb. It has an excellent view (think about it - you can't see the Eiffel Tower from the Eiffel Tower). This little venture should only take about two hours.

I have travelled to Paris 3 times because I can't get enough of the city, people and food! Definitely take a cruise along the Seine at night. You will get to see all the major sites along the river plus the light show the Eiffle Tower puts on! You must go to the top of the Eiffle Tower and even splurge and have dinner there. The Arc de Trioumph is a also a must see as well as Notre Dame. Moulin Rouge puts on a great show and one you will never forget. The Louvre is an all day event so don't think you won't be spending a lot of time there. However, 2 full days is not enough time to see all of Paris so pick the ones you and your friends really want to do and than plan a trip back to see the rest!

I just got back from my first trip to Paris. Sightseeing for sure is awesome. The Louvre was huge. Do a river cruise, get off the main streets and check out the cafes. Tons of shops, and great food.

I went in May and I went everywhere. The following are my favorite places:

Sacre Coure (a cathedral on a large hill top overlooking part of the city)
Seine Cruise at night (amazing)
Champs Elysee (a huges street with shops and outside restaurants)
Arc du Triomphe
Musuee D'Orsay
Louvre
Jurden du Tuillieries (a huge beautiful park that leads up to the Louvre, lot of people got there to drink wine, have picnic, drink coffee, eat ice cream, etc)

You can also go to www.frommers.com for travel tips and advice. It also has a list of attractions with a brief descripton.

Have fun!
