You may have to check with the French Embassy as the UK and Ireland are not part of the Schengan Treaty (allowing unrestricted travel between European countries). For some reason we trust each other to check passports but not our friends in mainland Europe. It depends where you are from of course but a Chinese friend of mine had to apply for a separate visa to visit Schengan countries while on a student visa to Ireland. I think that a visa to one country entitles to to visit all of them
Hope this helps!

That depends on where you're from... a Visa is an agreement with 1 country only

It does depend on which country you are from as most countries have some sort of visa waiver agreement with some other countries. You may be from a country which France is happy to waive a visa for. You will not get into France simply because you have a British working visa. Speak to the French embassy in London.

No you cannot travel to France if you have a british visa. (tourist or business doesnt matter)

You need to get a SCHENGAN VISA. This visa lets you visit all the Schengen countries.

The 15 Schengen countries are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Greece, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain and Sweden. All these countries except Norway and Iceland are European Union members.

Note; United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland and Switzerland are NOT participants in the Schengen Agreement.

go to www.myvisaadviser.co.uk for more info

or contact the FRENCH EMBASSY for more info

depending what nationality you are, getting a visit visa for schengen countries is usually straight forward, you need to have all documentation ready

good luck !

Have a peak at the links here. I'm not sure if you can. Make sure you speak with an official before you travel to save embarrassment. Have you got your Visa papers with you. Read the small print.

If you can make out that the Paris trip is work related then yes - you will need to have proof of travel and accommodation oh and insurance.
