France, unlike the U.S. does not grant citizenship to one simply because you were born there. One of your parents must be a French national in order for you to be considered a citizen at birth.

I would recommend you get a tourist visa, then travel to the place in France where you were born, and, once there, get your local birth certificate from the registry office and then start looking into the necessary measures to be done to claim your citizenship.
Of course you can start by looking in internet for french government and see what you find there...
Do you speak french?
Evidently that would be best. if you don't speak their language the french are not very helpful, especially in "officildom".

But France is a magnificent country, both to visit and to live in!

Good luck!

I assume you want to change your nationality because you would like to have European status which then of course allows you travel wherever you want in the European Union without having to worry about work permits and visa applications. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think you'll find that your chances of getting French citizenship are zero and therefore European status are zero.

I would suggest that you look at visa options available to you.

If you have to apply for a visa it means the embassy does not consider you as a French citizen, perhaps your parents requested Pakistani nationality for you when you were a child.

Your birth should be registed in France so you should be intiteled to you nationality! Get a copy of your birth certificate and show it to them!

Maybe the Embassy isn't listening because they have given up trying to explain the procedure to you.
You will have to have been registered with dual nationality at birth if one of your parents was a French citizen. You would probably then have to decide on one nationality at the age of 18 depending on Pakistani law on holding dual nationality.
If you already have a Pakistani passport, than you are a citizen of Pakistan and cannot really decide you want to be French by birth at this point. You will have to apply for naturalization or refugee status like anyone else.
