I am going to Lyon, France this summer. Has anyone been there?
Im going as an exchange student and would love to learn more about it. I google it but i want to know what a real person has to say about it. Has anyone been to lyon, france?
Lyon is very active city. As an exchange student you will be able to enjoy :
Soccer - Lyon has been France Champion 5 times in a row
Fine Food - Lyon is the "Capital" of French Cuisine. You'll find a lot of small "Bouchon Lyonnais". Those are small traditional restaurant (not too expensive)
Lyon is also know for its history (French Capital during the Roman Emprire, Resistance during WW2)
And best of all, you are about 1 hour aways from the Mountains. and 3 hours from the Sea..

I've visited Lyons and what I appreciated most were the Roman theaters and all the history behind them.

I was in Lyon briefly last summer. Just changed trains. Don't know much about Lyon, but be sure to take the TGV train south to Avignon and see Provence. It is gorgeous in the summer.

I was there 30 years ago when I was in the US Army on leave and it was a beautiful place with Fine restaurants, good wine and lots of walking paths.
