I am going to Paris in the Spring and was wondering where to stay? |
Which would you recommend the Left or the Right Bank? If you have a hotel to recommend I would really appreciate it, and any other helpful tips and places to see as well. Thanks |

I agree that you should choose a hotel that is close to an subway station. You will be doing alot of walking.
When choosing a hotel in Paris make sure you have at least a 2.5 star rating, and look for rooms that include a bathroom with shower and blowdryer. (the plugs are different there..and saves room in your luggage) Do not take for granted that all rooms have a bathroom and shower.
Price range make a big difference in your choices.
It's best to make some searches . I've been to paris 3 times so far and they have all been great ! As long as I am close to the subway and that there is a bathroom :)
Also, please be careful of pick pockets.. They are good !!!! Never walk around with a purse over your shoulder. Try to keep everything inside a jacket...
Top places to visit, Eiffel tower(walk up), The Louvre (full day), Notre Dame Cathedral , Sacre Coeur cathedral , moulin rouge(watch out for pick pockets..), .. you might also consider a day trip to Versaille , to see Louis xiv 's castle... amazing.
Enjoy the food.. don't forget to buy a thin crepe with Nutella ! |

The most important thing you should consider is how close is the hotel to a subway stop. The sights of Paris are spread out across the city. You will be taking the subway often. It is easy to use and quick to get to any location.
If you want to party all night long, then you may want a hotel next to a party area and a subway stop.
I stayed at the Best Western Au Trocadero with my girl friend. It was a wonderfull stay right next to a metro stop and the eifell tower. It was a simple place and cheapest I could find with a "view" of the Eifell Tower. Had to lean a little bit out of window to see it. It was the thought that counts and my gf loved it.

I'll suggest you hotel Ascot Opera-rue Monsigny no.2. It's a small one, but in a safe area and very well located, just few steps to the main beauties of Paris. As for a subway station, in one minute you'll be at "4 September" station. Bon voyage ! |

That's a very subjective question. I think your best bet is to go Trip Advisor, do some research on the official France Tourism website run by the Government for tourists and then compare personal notes and perceptions with accomodation prices at Cheaper than Hotels - Paris, which has both last minute and year round reductions, rated by stars. |
